Understanding Standard Form Fields
Updated this week

In Apricot, forms are the primary way that data is collected and stored within the system. Forms are built using a variety of fields, which govern how information is captured. A diverse selection of standard form fields are available to Administrators in the Form Designer.

When building a form, Administrators can choose from a wide range of field types, each designed to collect a specific type of data. These include text fields, number fields, date fields, and more. Administrators can also configure various properties for each field, such as making them required or enabling duplicate check to ensure data integrity.

To access these standard form fields, Administrators can open a report in the Form Designer and look in the Field Choices palette on the top-right corner of the screen. This palette contains all the available field types that can be added to a form. Administrators can simply click and drag these fields into the body of the form to add them.

Once a form is published, users can access it from the "My Apricot" tab to begin entering data. The fields on the form will guide users through the data entry process, enforcing any requirements or validations that have been set by an Administrator. The data collected in these form fields can then be reported on using Apricot's Native Reporting tool, allowing Administrators to analyze the information and generate meaningful insights.

Review the articles below to learn about the available standard fields in the Form Designer and how to use them to meet your organization's data entry needs.
