How do I copy or move a program? (Legacy Permissions)
Updated over 3 months ago

If your organization operates out of two different locations, they can be designed as two different sites within your Apricot database. The programs within those sites can be the same if you offer the same programs at each location, or they can be unique to each site.

Every database in Apricot starts with one site by standard, titled "Default." Multi-site functionality, however, is only available for Apricot Core and Apricot 360 customers. To learn more about this option for your organization, please reach out to the Account Management team here.

If the programs in your database are typically configured with little to no differences in their settings, you can copy a program within the same site or to a different site as a time-saving measure. You can also switch which site a program is in to better suit your organization’s needs.

Note: This article pertains to Apricot organizations on Legacy Permissions only. Organizations on Role-Based Permissions must manually recreate a program and its details for it to be present in multiple sites.

Follow the steps listed below to learn how to copy or move programs within your database.

Step 1: Select the program

In the Administrator view, expand the Access Control category of the navigation bar and select ‘Sites & Programs’.

Here you will find a list of existing sites and programs in your Apricot database. Click the + icon next to the appropriate site, then click the kebab menu (or three-dot icon) next to the program you want to copy or move to another site.

Step 2: Copy the program to a site

To create the same program in a different site, select ‘Copy To’ from the kebab menu to open a pop-up window.

Click on the site you want to copy the program to (you can choose the same site if applicable), then create a name that differentiates it from the original. For example, if you’re copying a program to a new site, add a signifier like the site name or acronym that lets users know which program it is.

Then, click Copy at the bottom of the pop-up window. The Sites & Programs page will refresh, and you’ll find the copied program when expanding the selected site.

Step 3: Move the program to a site

Click the kebab menu again next to a program you want to move to a different site, then select ‘Move To’ to open a pop-up window.

Choose which site the program should be moved to, then click Move at the bottom of the pop-up window. The Sites & Programs page will refresh, and the program will no longer be listed under the original program but rather the newly selected program.
