How do I add a Program IP restriction? (Legacy Permissions)
Updated over 4 months ago

When Program IP Restrictions are active in your site, all programs must be assigned an IP address or users will not have access to the site. Administrator access, however, cannot be restricted by programs or permission sets. They can log in from any IP address and access any information in the Apricot site regardless of IP restrictions.

Follow the steps listed below if your organization uses Legacy Permissions to learn how to restrict which computers or locations can be used to access Apricot programs and records.

Step 1: Select a program

In the Administrator view, expand the Access Control category on the navigation bar and select 'Sites & Programs'.

Click the 'New +' button to create a new program, or click the + icon next to a Site to view its existing programs. Then, click the eye icon next to the program you want to add an IP restriction to.

Step 2: View the permission set

Scroll down the program's page to the Permission Sets section. Click the + icon to create a new permission set, or click the eye icon next to an existing permission set to view its details.

Step 3: Add an IP address

In the Permission Set Details section, click the arrow next to 'Group IP Restriction'. In the textbox that appears, type the IP address you would like to restrict this program to when users with this permission set log in to Apricot.

Note: Adding an IP address here means that it will be the only IP address allowed to access the information in this program. If there are users that should have unlimited access to Apricot data, they will need to be associated with their own permission set in this program that does not have a Group IP Restriction.

Keep in mind that users can be assigned to multiple programs and multiple permission sets. You may restrict a permission set to more than one IP address, and the same IP address can be added to multiple permission sets.

Step 4: Confirm your changes

Click the Add button to confirm the IP address, then select Save Record to save your changes.
