To get started with Referrals, administrators first need to configure the programs that can send and receive referrals, as well as set the appropriate user permissions for data entry. Permissions must be granted for each Role or permission set assigned to users who need to access referrals.
Follow the steps below to ensure you have the necessary permissions to create internal referrals within Apricot.
Step 1: View program permissions
In the Administrator tab, expand the Access Control category of the navigation bar and select "Sites & Programs".
Click the "+" icon next to a site name, then click the eye icon next to any program you want to receive or send referrals.
Then, click the "Update" button and scroll down to make changes to the Program Referrals section. Use the checkboxes to mark whether you want the program to only receive referrals from other programs, only send referrals to other programs, or both.
You can also set an email address here to receive email notifications when a referral is made to the selected program.

Click "Save" to confirm these changes, then repeat this step for any program across your database that should receive or send referrals.
