A graph's data source determines which information within a report section the graph visualizes. There are three available types of Data Sources: Group Counts, Summaries, and Rows. Users can manage the data source of a report graph within the Graph Properties.
Continue reading below to learn how each data source affects the way your data is represented in a graph.
Group Counts
This is the most common data source in report graphs. At least one column in the report section must be grouped in order to use this data source. To learn how to group report data, click here.
A graph using Group Counts will display the number of rows within each group of the report section. You'll find the Row Count next to each group name; this is the number represented in the graph.

Summary
To graph a summary, at least one column must be set to display a Summary value (ex. Total or Average) within its Column Properties.
In the Graph Properties, click the + icon next to Summaries to add dropdown fields. Choose the column(s) set to display a Summary value that you want to view in the graph, then click Apply.
The graph will then display the values at the bottom of your Summary columns.
Rows
This data source graphs the information from the left-most column against any selected numeric column(s) also present within the report section.
โ
In the Graph Properties, click the + icon next to Columns to add a dropdown field. Only numeric columns in the report section will be available to select here. Click Apply to close the properties. You'll find both the selected numeric field(s) and the first column in the report section displayed in the graph.
