How do I change a report graph's colors? (Native Reporting)
Updated over a month ago

The colors used in a report graph can be changed by selecting a theme in the Graph Properties. You can also customize your own color theme and fonts for your graph.

Follow the steps listed below to learn what graph colors and font formatting are available for native reports.

Step 1: Select a theme

After adding a graph to your section, click the green gear icon to open its properties.

Expand the Graph Themes and Colors section to select a theme from the dropdown menu.

When selecting a theme other than Standard, a small bar of each color in the palette will appear. You can click the X next to a color to remove it from the palette.

View an example of each preset theme below:

Standard

Carbon (grays)

Fint (bright)

Ocean (greens and blues)

Step 2 (optional): Create a custom theme

Clicking the "Add Color" button after selecting any theme will automatically change the theme to 'Custom'.

Then, click the black bar and use the color picker to add a new color to the theme.

You can also select 'Custom' from the Themes dropdown to choose every single color in the palette from scratch; a maximum of 12 colors can be added to a custom theme.

Step 3: Edit the fonts

Expand the Font Formatting section to reveal more dropdown fields.

These allow you to choose between six different fonts and font sizes from 8-16 for the graph title, axis labels, and data labels. The color pickers here are the same for the custom graph themes.

Step 4: Save your changes

Click Apply to close the Graph Properties pop-up window and view your new graph theme and formatting.

Once you're happy with your graph, select 'Save' from the Report Actions palette. You can also publish the report to make the changes immediately available to other users running the report.
