A variable in Apricot Results Reporting (ARR) is any object created within the report, as opposed to objects that are generated based on the form fields brought into the report query. Variables allow you to manipulate your existing objects with formulas to present the specific subset of data you're looking to highlight in your report, similar to custom expressions in the Native Reporting tool.
With the proper formula syntax, there are endless possibilities for the available functions and operators in ARR to customize your report data. For example, you can create formulas that change the format of a text, numeric, or date value. You can also isolate responses of the first or last record of a form, concatenate data from multiple fields into a single column, and much more.
Administrators can access ARR in the Administrator tab by expanding the Report Center category of the navigation bar and selecting Apricot Results Reporting. This will open the Apricot Results Reporting Dashboard. Existing reports are saved in Folders within the Reporting Dashboard, and new custom reports are created from the Web Intelligence application here. To learn the basics of ARR first, click here.
