There are two types of option fields that allow users to select multiple options when filling out a record: Checkbox and Multi-Select Dropdown fields. Filtering on either of these multi-select fields in a report displays data differently than some may expect.

Multi-Select Report Columns
In our example report, we can see every participant that has a response to the question "What snacks do you like?"
This question is a checkbox field in a form, and users are able to select multiple options within the field when recording a response. When adding this field type as a report column, the Report Builder displays every option selected in each record.
Multi-Select Filters
Now, let's see how the report data is displayed when we filter for just a single option: 'Chips'. To learn how to filter a report by an option field, click here.
Only records that have selected 'Chips' in the checkbox field are shown in the report; however, the Report Builder also lists every other option that was chosen in those records. This is expected behavior, as Apricot will always display the stored values within a record even when you're filtering for a single value.
To minimize confusion, we recommend looking to the Section Count at the bottom-right of the report section. In our report, this shows a total of 5 unique participants that meet our filter criteria.
